How Your Views Are Counted
Understand the view tracking system: how views are verified on standard platforms versus WhatsApp Status and Snapchat Spotlight, what counts toward earnings, and what to do if your views seem wrong.
Two view-tracking models
How views are counted depends on which platform you posted to.
Link-based platforms (TikTok, Instagram, X, YouTube, Telegram Channel)
After your slot is approved, UGC tracks views on your post via:
- Connected account (OAuth): Link your social account in Settings → Social Accounts. The platform reads your metrics directly - the most accurate path, and it updates automatically.
- Manual verification: Our team reviews your submitted proof (screenshot or URL) periodically. Used as a fallback when automatic tracking isn't available.
What counts as a payable view on CPM campaigns?
A view counts toward earnings when:
- The total view count meets the campaign's minimum payable view threshold.
- The view delta since the last check cycle meets the per-cycle minimum.
- Your post has been live for the minimum required days (varies by campaign).
WhatsApp Status and Snapchat Spotlight - screenshot-based verification
WhatsApp Status and Snapchat Spotlight don't have public post URLs and no API provides live view counts. UGC uses a two-step proof workflow for these platforms. You earn a flat fee - not per view - and our team reviews your screenshots to confirm real reach.
How the two-step proof works
- Submit step: Right after posting, go to My Slots → Reserved and confirm you've posted (optionally uploading a creative screenshot). The slot moves to the Submitted tab and enters a waiting period.
- Waiting period: Your post must stay live. UGC waits before unlocking view-proof upload - this ensures your post has had time to accumulate genuine views and proves you didn't delete it immediately after submitting.
- View-proof step: Once the waiting period ends (you'll receive a notification), open the slot under My Slots → Submitted and upload screenshots showing your view counts. Our team reviews these and approves your flat fee.
What screenshots should show
- For WhatsApp Status: a screenshot of your Status showing the view count (the "viewed by" number) and the brand content visible.
- For Snapchat Spotlight: a screenshot of your Snap showing view/play metrics within the Snapchat app.
- Timestamps and the brand content must both be clearly visible. A screenshot taken after you've already deleted the post will be flagged.
How earnings work on flat-rate slots
Your flat fee is fixed regardless of view count. The screenshot review is to confirm you posted genuine content and kept it live - not to calculate per-view earnings. Once our team approves, your full flat-fee amount is released to your creator earnings balance.
Earnings hold periods (all platforms)
Earnings are held briefly before release. Standard creators have a 48-hour hold per cycle. Premium creators have a reduced hold period. Earnings during the hold show as Pending in your balance.
If your views look wrong (link-based slots)
Open an appeal from your slot in My Slots → History if you believe the tracked count is significantly lower than your actual views. Our team will review and adjust if warranted. For screenshot-only platforms (WhatsApp Status, Snapchat Spotlight), you can attach evidence screenshots when appealing view-count or earnings issues.
If your view-proof screenshots are rejected
Common reasons: screenshots taken too early (before the waiting period ended), view count not visible in the image, or signs the post was deleted. Open a support ticket if you believe the rejection was a mistake - we review these fairly.
